Ethiopian Airlines Mega-airport is envisaged to impel not only the Airline to Global Aviation Leadership but forge airport cities conducive for global companies to operate across African, European and Asian markets. The Bishoftu mega airport – presently under construction in Bishoftu city– is going to be four times larger than the current Bole Airport. And it is slated to be finalized in 2030 with an outlay of 12.7 USD. Upon completion the mega-airport is set to serve 110 millions passengers annually.

Founded in 1945 and embarked on customer service a year later, the Ethiopian Airlines has been regarded as a Pan African airline since its inception. Ethiopia’s economy is one of the fastest-growing economies in the continent of Africa. Here, there is no doubt that the Ethiopian Airlines is making a substantial contribution to the country’s national development drive.

Analsysts note that the nation’s track record in the aviation industry will transform the capital and Bishoftu to become airport cities and hub to global multi-national companies.
